How To's Blu Ray Info I was recently asked by a friend what it would cost him to buy a blu ray player for his pc. The answer is, A LOT! Here is the basic basic basic info. To curb piracy the movie industry uses something called HDCP. (Look that up here ) All the equipment that you use to view your blu ray disc has to be HDCP compliant. What equipment is that ? You ask. That means you need a blu ray player for your PC. A New video card, AND a new MONITOR!!! All HDCP compliant So, unless you plan on viewing lots and lots of blu rays on your pc, it simply is NOT worth the money.
